Announcing a new series on Incorruptibles

Incorruptibles have a long history in the 2000 year history of the Church. We’ll be exploring this mystery of incorruptibles, in part, in the upcoming film Incorruptible, the life & faith of Sister Wilhelmina.

An addition, a new series is being planned for production that will focus exclusively on Mystics & Incorruptibles of the Church which will be released via a podcast and short video.  This new series will be produced by Incorruptible Films and the Catholic Film Foundation.

As for Incorruptible, the life & faith of Sister Wilhelmina: In order to begin understanding the mystery of Sister Wilhelmina’s incorruptibility we must begin by exploring the richness and the mysteries of the faith that she loved.  From the Liturgy to the Sacraments to the mystics and mysteries of the church.  From our research it’s very clear that incorruptibles noted by the church have a few common traits.  

 

The first common trait among known incorruptibles, apart from Sister Wilhelmina (at this time anyway), is that they are all recognized as canonized saints by the church. It should be noted that according to church law, the cause of canonization cannot be officially opened until the fifth anniversary of the individuals death.  So the soonest a cause for Sister Wilhelmina canonization may be opened would be on or after May 29, 2023.  We’ll discuss the procedure for the Cause of Canonization in another post.   

The second common trait among known incorruptibles (including in this instance Sister Wilhelmina pending a declaration of such incorruptibility) is that they all appear to have had the upmost respect for the ancient traditions of the church including the sacraments and liturgy (i.e. Latin mass for example).

• Are any of the incorruptibles not actually incorruptible?
• Does the church make a declaration of incorruptibility or is the matter simply documented as worthy of belief?
• Who are the incorruptible of the church?
• Do other religions have incorruptibles?
