Incorruptible

Inspired by the Life & Faith of Sister Wilhelmina

The Plan

The Plan for Incorruptible:The ultimate goal, God willing, is to produce a high quality feature length docudrama.  Distinguished from a documentary, a docudrama will incorporate a number of narrative scenes and visually stunning reenactments.

For example, a reenactment scene depicting the “discovery” of Sister Wilhelmina’s body was recently filmed in Gower.  Additional reenactments, budget pending, are planned for the Spring of 2024.  I have also been traveling around the country filming key locations and conducting interviews.   We have been interviewing people who either knew Sister Wilhelmina or who are able to provide comments on matters related to the community, incorruptibility and the church. It has been an incredible journey meeting so many amazing people!

We have many more interviews to conduct.  The goal is to continue filming interviews through late winter of 2024.

Once filming has wrapped, we will begin editing and arranging the story.  The ultimate goal is to be able to release Incorruptible in theaters across the country!

So what happens next?

Interviews

We have been interviewing people who either knew Sister Wilhelmina or who are able to provide comments on matters related to the community, incorruptibility and the church.

It has been an incredible journey meeting so many amazing people!  If you would be interested in providing commentary for the documentary feel free to email incorruptiblemovie@gmail.com.

Narrative Scene Production.

Distinguished from a documentary, a docudrama will incorporate a number of high quality narrative scenes with visually stunning reenactments.  For example, a reenactment scene depicting the “discovery” of Sister Wilhelmina’s body was recently filmed in Gower.  Additional reenactments, budget pending, are planned for the Spring of 2024.

People and groups will be able to sponsor specific scenes that include key moments in Sister Wilhelmina’s life!   For example we plan to shoot a scene reenacting a young Mary Elizabeth’s confirmation when she head Jesus say “will you be mine?…”   Details will be posted via our lifefunder page.   You can also reach out if you have any questions or if you would like more information.

Fundraising.

Fundraising efforts have begun to help finish the production and to help cover marketing costs for Incorruptible.  There will be several fundraising initiatives announced. The first initiative is a LifeFunder campaign which you can view here.

Projected budget: The current budget for Incorruptible is projected at between $375,000 to $500,000+.  The bulk of these funds will be used for filming, producing narrative scenes, editing and promoting the film.  Additional funds may be needed depending on how many narrative scenes (reenactments) that we want to produce.

Timeline:

Filming of interviews will continue through the winter of 2024 with narrative scenes and reenactments being produced (budget pending) in the late winter and early spring.  The Sisters in Gower have final cut approval, so our plan is to have something for them to see by May 29 of 2024 (the 5th anniversary of Sister Wilhelmina’s passing).  Once we have Final Cut the fun will begin!

Private Screenings: Before the film is widely released, a number of private screenings will be hosted to share the film as we make final edits. Each of you will be invited to participate in person or online when the time comes.

Theatrical Release, Streaming and more.  Once finished, the film will be released in theater around the country.  Followed by Television, streaming and eventual DVD/Download.  Stay tuned!

About

The goal of Incorruptible is to produce a cinematic experience that leaves spectators inspired to become incorruptible.

About Sister Wilhelmina.  Sister Wilhelmina was born as Mary Elizabeth in St. Louis on Palm Sunday, April 13, 1924. From a young age Mary Elizabeth experienced a number of mystical graces that would cement her love for Jesus Christ. During her First Holy Communion she recalled seeing Jesus and hearing the words “will you be mine.” She recounted that “he was so handsome” how could she say no? A young Mary Elizabeth would go on to enter the Oblate Sisters of Providence where she took the name Sister Wilhelmina.

As time went on Sister Wilhelmina grew determined to preserve and observe the traditions of religious life. From the traditional habit to the Sacred Liturgy, Sister Wilhelmina desired to serve her groom with the upmost reverence. In 1995 at 70 years of age, Sister Wilhelmina became the foundress of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles.

Sister Wilhelmina passed away on May 29, 2019 surrounded by her loving sisters. Four years later the discovery of her incorrupt body inspired people across the world and shed new light on her incredible life.

In April of 2023 a group of cloistered nuns made an incredible discovery. Four years after her death, the body of their founder, Sister Wilhelmina, was observed to be intact. Could Sister Wilhelmina be an incorruptible?

Soon thousands of pilgrimages were arriving at the Abbey to see for themselves. “She smells like roses!” some said, as they touched their rosaries and other items to what appeared to be a miraculous body.

About the movie: The profound and miraculous discovery of Sister Wilhelmina‘s incorrupt body offers a glimpse of God’s infinite mercy available for all mankind. The discovery also provokes questions about the meaning, the timing and the purpose of the miracle.  Why her? Why now?

In order to begin understanding the mystery of Sister Wilhelmina’s incorruptibility we must begin by exploring the richness and the mysteries of the faith that she loved.  From the Liturgy to the Sacraments to the mystics and mysteries of the church.

Incorruptible will explore these questions and more. We’ll be retracing Wilhelmina‘s steps and uncovering the pivotal moments that inspired her to lead a life of prayer and devotion to the Lord. The film will also also provide a glimpse of how Sister Wilhelmina‘s legacy continues through the work and prayer of her Benedictine sisters.
