Why Sister Wilhelmina? Here is a list of a few traits and characteristics that we absolutely love about Sister Wilhelmina:
1. She devoted her life to her faith and to her vocation!
2. Sister Wilhelmina was first and foremost a Bride of Christ!
3. Even in difficult time, Sister Wilhelmina humbled herself to God’s will. She would often say “God’s will be done!”
4. Sister Wilhelmina was so devoted to the ancient Holy Mass, that she founded the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles – a contemplative and traditional community of sisters.
5. Sister Wilhelmina found joy in even the most mundane tasks.
6. Sister Wilhelmina loved to sing! In fact, the Sisters are well known for their beautiful music. Look them up on the streaming service of your choice!
7. Sister Wilhelmina loved to tell jokes!
8. She radiated joyfulness. In fact, if you visit the Sisters in Gower you will most certainly observe an abundance of joy in the facial expressions of the Sisters. There is something truly incredible and frankly contagious about their joy.
9. Sister Wilhelmina was brilliant. Numerous people we have interviewed have shared stories of her incredible intelligence.
10. Sister was feisty, witty and had a great sense of humor! There are some amusing stories of Sister Wilhelmina having fun and sharing jokes with whomever was around. These stories will surely make you smile!
11. She was wise. In the film, we will share some incredible moments of wisdom that Sister Wilhelmina demonstrated to her sisters.
12. She prayed for priests! Sister Wilhelmina devoted a great deal of time praying for priests, praying for vocations and supporting those vocations through numerous acts of charity. We are excited to share some truly beautiful moments of these acts of charity in the film!
13. She was humble. Even as her community began to flourish with young sisters coming in, Sister Wilhelmina was just a simple sister.
14. Her life was incredible. She lived through and witnessed some of the most historical events of the 20th century. But at the end of the day she ordered her life toward serving Jesus Christ.
These are just a few of our favorite things about Sister Wilhelmina.
